It’s heartbreaking when pets disappear; you can’t stop wondering where they’ve gone… worrying if they’re frightened or hurt… wanting someone to find them safe… and hoping and praying you will see them again.

Thanks to PetRescuers and other good Samaritans, animal shelter workers, veterinarians and HomeAgain microchips, many thousands of pets are reunited with their owners each month. He ended up 20 miles from home, malnourished and with multiple injuries. Fortunately he was turned into animal control, which scanned him and contacted HomeAgain. Despite the medical care and surgery he required after his death-defying ride, Kitty’s grateful family was overjoyed to have him back. Read the full story.

How You Can Help

If your pet isn’t already microchipped, these stories may inspire you to visit your veterinarian and have it done. Any pet can vanish and they sometimes are found worse for the experience. They can’t tell us their stories and where they’ve been and we don’t care — because all we want is to bring them home and hug them close.
